Membership

We invite you to become a member of our congregation by meeting with the Session, our

governing group of officers, to express your faith in Christ by one of the following ways:

PROFESSION OF FAITH – This means that you receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and that

you sincerely promise to live for Him. Previous baptism is considered valid, or the Sacrament of

Baptism may be administered at the time of your profession.

TRANSFER OF MEMBERSHIP – You may request that the pastor write to your former church

for a certificate or letter of transfer. Often, the Session will receive new members simply upon a

statement of former membership, pending receipt of a letter of transfer.

REAFFIRMATION OF FAITH – If you have been inactive or separated from the church for a long

period of time and wish to rededicate yourself, you may be received on reaffirmation of your faith.

Persons desiring information on church affiliation may contact the pastor, the church office, one of

the church officers, or so indicate on the Friendship Register.

Consider CPC Class

Have you been thinking about becoming a member of CPC, and you want to know more about our church and what it means to be Presbyterian? Or, are you already a CPC member – recent or long-time – and you'd like a refresher course?

Either way, you're cordially invited to the next "Consider CPC" class, which is offered quarterly throughout the year. We'll begin with a light lunch in the Fellowship Hall, enjoying good food and one another's company. Then there will be a time for discovering more about CPC and being Presbyterian. One of the highlights of the class will be a tour of our facility, revealing some "little-known secrets" about the church building!

While this class is not a requirement for joining the church – nor does taking part in the class obligate you to join – it is hoped that many participants will choose to become members of our church family. Because lunch is being provided, reservations are required so we'll know how many to expect. To attend an upcoming "Consider CPC" class, please contact Shelda Wills in the church office, 382- 2802. Upon request, child care will be available.
